The creation of the 7-man endgame tables represents a significant milestone in chess endgames. These tables were meticulously calculated using a Lomonosov supercomputer by the Computer Science department of MSU.

With a total size of 100 TB, the 7-man tables exceed the storage capacity of most standard computers. Consequently, an application was developed to enable users with Android devices to leverage this extensive database for position analysis and gameplay involving up to seven pieces, including the kings.

The application facilitates various functions:

1. Setting up winning or losing positions to ascertain the number of moves until checkmate.
2. Revealing the optimal line of play for both sides in a winning scenario.
3. Engaging in games against the program, with responsive move sequences.
4. Accessing carefully chosen training positions for practice.
5. Saving favorite positions and importing or exporting them as needed.

Upon initial use, the application operates in POSITION mode for configuring and evaluating positions via three screens: Board, Notation, and Tree. Users can seamlessly navigate between screens using buttons located in the top left corner.

The Board screen permits users to place pieces on the board, adjust positions, and access tooltips by pressing and holding buttons. The application automatically queries the endgame server for valid positions, offering near-instant responses for 3-piece endgames. The distance to checkmate is prominently displayed, with the best move highlighted by a green arrow.

The Notation screen showcases optimal move sequences for both sides, allowing users to explore variations by testing new moves on the board. Notation updates in real-time across screens as moves are made.

The Tree screen presents strongest moves available from a given position. Users can select a move and proceed by tapping Arrow Right or applying a right gesture on the move line.

Engaging the Play feature prompts automated responses from the computer based on user moves on the board. Additionally, enabling Drag functionality allows users to rearrange pieces via drag-and-drop interactions, with squares indicating mate distances when holding a piece.

A series of engaging positions have been curated for playing against the computer. Users can select positions through CONTENTS, LESSONS, or TRAINING modes, executing moves within specified limits. Upon task completion, users can view their own versus optimal moves in Demo mode, with optimal moves marked in green and suboptimal ones in red.
